Take Advantage of Restocks

Many retailers get new deliveries of clothing every fortnight. This means they are under constant pressure to sell their merchandise to make room for the clothes to come. Take advantage of this by getting seasons specific items like summer shorts and sandals a month early, as this is when they are likely to come in stock.

Invest in Quality Staples

When it comes to clothing staples, shirts and black trousers, for example, it pays to invest in quality items. A cheap black skirt might not look too different to the more expensive version, but paying a little extra now prevents having to replace so quickly.

Pay Attention to Tags

If a tag says “dry clean only”, it’s important to pay attention to it. Always check the care tags and always launder according to the manufacturers’ specifications, it will greatly extend the life of your clothes.

While scarfs are common in winter, it doesn’t mean they can’t be worn through all of the seasons. Spring scarfs are a popular choice this year, so here’s a few ideas for some scarf outfit combinations.

Bright Fringed Scarfs

The perfect accessory for chilly spring mornings is a large, flowing fringed scarf. It looks great when draped over the shoulders and provides a layer of colour and warmth.

Soft Confetti Scarfs

Confetti scarfs are easy to wear and soft to the touch. They add a sophisticated touch to both casual and work outfits and are perfect for this spring season.

Polka Dot Scarfs

A patterned polka dot scarf is an easy way to add some fun and flair to any outfit.

Abstract Pattern Scarfs

Abstract designs look traditional, yet stay up to date due to their modern patterns. Abstract floral patterns on a scarf make a bold and feminine statement.

Boots make a big statement when worn with the right clothing combinations. But this is often easier said than done. While they’re popular boots are often difficult to pull off, since unlike sneakers or flat shoes they you can’t just wear whatever you feel like above them, they tend to need to fit with the entire outfit.

Ankle and Rain Boots

Ankle and rain boots are fairly small when compared to bigger boots, so they can be combined with more clothing options. Skinny jeans are always a good choice for shorter boots, if they are pointy toed then combine them with trousers that just touch the floor, with the boots pointing from underneath.

Long Boots

Long boots are not for the faint of heart. They make a big statement and should be combined with the corresponding clothing. Mini skirts that touch the top of the boots are a great choice, without showing off too much.

Along with the colder days that winter brings, the clothes we wear also shift in style. Sweaters are a popular choice to combat the cold this year, so keep yours in top condition and look hot right through winter.

Washing A Sweater

Before washing any sweater or knitwear be sure to check the label. The label always has important information on it, such as if it can be machine washed and the temperatures for washing. If you decide to machine wash then skip the spin cycle as the rough motion can stretch knits and ruin their shape. Also be sure to button the buttons and tie any knots before putting it in the machine.

To dry a sweater don’t use a tumble dryer. Air drying is much better as it avoids the roughness of machine drying. To air dry simply lay the sweater out on a flat towel, don’t hang it to dry if you can help it as this can stretch the weave.
