The Rise of the Dad Bod
The dad bod is a new trend which some say is a bit ridiculous, while others say is a sign that men and their fashion sense are turning their noses up at the increasingly vain sensibilities being pushed on them by the fashion industry and pop culture.
The term originates from a discussion on a blog, where they said that women prefer men with a “dad bod” to some adonis-like, Channing Tatum clone who has a perfectly proportioned and well-maintained physique, or a sense of fashion like Kanye West, due to how it makes any photo taken with them makes them in turn look better. Since then the trend has flourished, and now many men have gone on to champion the dad bod sense of fashion and general lack of interest in spending hours every day at the gym.
On the other side of things you’ll probably find many people with a “dad bod” or their sense of fashion, and who’ve been that way for years, feel that the whole trend is pretty silly and the need to give it such a childish name just another act of silliness.
